Exercise 6

EXERCISE 6: Your very own spiritual masters:

A “master” is simply someone we trust who has more experience in something we are interested in than we do, and to whom we can turn when we want to know more, or when we want to become better at something.

Name everybody in your life who has helped you when you were confused, in trouble or just curious about life.

Name people around you who have challenged you, and whom you respect anyway – or because of it.

Describe what you’ve taken in as ‘wisdom’ that has worked for you.

Name people you know to whom you could turn in your current spiritual Quest. Find a way to tell them that you are seeking something ‘more,’ you want to deepen your relationship with God. Ask them to serve as guide or sounding-board from time to time.

Write down your findings in your journal for future reference
