Centring Prayer

Spiritualpractice 51A simple form of prayer without words, beyond thought and image, in it we spiral down to the deepest centre of ourselves in silence, simply being with God. we empty ourselves ‘to be filled’ with the persons of God. This form of meditation has been made popular by Thomas Keating, OSB and is described in many of his books.

  1. Sit comfortably, relaxed.
  2. Rest within yourself, aware of your desire for God.
  3. Slowly move to the centre within your deepest self.
  4. In the stillness, become aware of God’s presence, peacefully absorbing God’s love.
